#SDCC2017: See All the New Cast Additions for ‘Supergirl’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Arrow’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, and ‘Black Lightning’

Earlier today we shared with you all the promo videos from The CW’s DC shows that were shared at the panel yesterday at San Diego Comic Con. Also at that panel were new cast additions to those shows, and we’re here to compile the whole thing for you in one place.

Odette Annable

Supergirl will have an addition of five new cast members for Season 3 with Odette Annable, Adrian Pasdar, Carl Lumbly, Emma Tremblay, Yael Grobglas making their way to National City. Odette Annable will be Supergirl’s primary adversary Reign, one of five aliens captured and experimented on by Kryptonian scientists in an attempt to turn them into powerful weapons. After they awoke and found their captors dead and Krypton destroyed, Reign and three of the others attempted to find their home worlds, but instead wound up on Earth. Adrian Pasdar will play ruthless real estate developer Morgan Edge. He’s a charismatic capitalist who who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and will be knocking horns with Lena Luthor and Kara. Carl Lumbly has been cast as M’yrnn J’onzz, the father of J’onn J’onzz (David Harewood) and a pacifist religious leader on Mars. Emma Tremblay will be playing Ruby, a smart, independently-minded National City kid who’s fascinated by Supergirl and ends up in jeopardy because of it. Yael Grobglas will portray the DC character Psi, a psychic villain who uses people’s own minds against them. Her agenda will put her on Supergirl’s radar, and their meeting will affect the Girl of Steel in surprising ways.

The Thinker

The Flash will be adding a bounty hunter and two villains for Season 4 with Danny Trejo, Neil Sandilands, and Kim Engelbrecht. Danny Trejo will play Breacher, a feared bounty hunter from Earth-19 and the imposing father of inter-dimensional bounty hunter, Gypsy (Jessica Camacho). His mission is to prevent any inter-dimensional traveler from threatening life on his planet — especially his daughter’s. Neil Sandilands will play the season’s central villain – Clifford DeVoe, aka The Thinker. The Thinker is metahuman with a mega mind who will embark on a season-long battle with The Flash that pits the “fastest man alive” against the “fastest mind alive.” A true genius, he’s devised an intricate plan to fix all that he deems wrong with humanity. Kim Engelbrecht has been cast as The Mechanic, a highly intelligent engineer who designs devices for Devoe. She is DeVoe’s truest believer and right-hand, and will stop at nothing to help him implement his plan to fix humanity.

Legends of Tomorrow fans will be seeing more of several familiar faces, and one new one, for Season 3. Wentworth Miller will reprise his character of Leonard Snart (aka Captain Cold) and Arthur Darvill will appear again as Rip Hunter on a recurring basis throughout the season. Neal McDonough has had his role of Damian Darhk expanded to that of a season regular. One new face to the show will be Tala Ashe. She will be joining the team as Zari Adrianna Tomaz, a Muslim-American computer nerd with a wry, combative attitude who hails from the year 2030. Zari lives a double life as a ‘grey hat hacktivist’, but has no idea that she possesses secret, latent powers derived from an ancient, mystical source.

Season 6 of Arrow will see the addition of genre series actor Michael Emerson, as well as the return of David Nykl. David Nykl plays Oliver Queen’s friend/mentor/nemesis Anatoly Knyazev. Michael Emerson‘s role is still a mystery, as it has yet to be announced, but he will be on the show in a recurring capacity.

Black Lightning added two more names to its cast yesterday, bringing in James Remar and Damon Gupton. James Remar will play Peter Gambi, the oldest friend of Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams). He is a father figure for Jefferson, as well as his mentor and “tailor.” His history with Jefferson goes back farther and deeper than anyone knows, and Gambi’s role in Jefferson’s life will become a painful window into the past that will affect the future of their relationship forever. Damon Gupton has been cast as Inspector Henderson, a veteran officer of the law who is now the highest-ranking detective on the force. His role in the community often puts him at odds with Black Lightning, but they soon become unlikely allies.

Supergirl return October 9, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow return October 10, and Arrow returns October 12. Black Lighting will air in 2018.
