[SDCC 2018] See the New Trailers for DC’s Superhero Shows on The CW!

The CW Universe

Saturday was a big day for DC at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2018. Not only did we get trailers for Aquaman and Shazam!, but the CW superhero shows had their own panels and season trailers.

In case you weren’t able to make the panels, we’ve assembled the trailers here just for you!

Arrow

Last season saw Oliver Queen revealing to the public that he is in fact the Green Arrow. It also saw him headed to prison after making a deal with the FBI in exchange for their help in getting rid of Ricardo Diaz. Season 7 picks up five months later with Oliver still in prison, trying to keep his head down, avoid any conflicts, and serve his time. If you know anything about Oliver, though, that doesn’t exactly go according to plan.

Meanwhile in Star City, vigilantes are still outlawed, but that doesn’t keep a mysterious archer from showing up and causing chaos.  Also, Ricardo Diaz is bent on revenge. After Oliver Queen took everything from him, he wants to return the favor, putting his wife Felicity and son William squarely in the line of fire.

Arrow returns Monday, October 15th at 8/7C on The CW.

The Flash

To say Team Flash was left speechless at the end of Season 4 would be an understatement. A mysterious girl each of them had encountered at least once over the past year revealed herself to be Nora Allen, the daughter of Barry and Iris from the future. She also stuck in 2018 and desperately needs their help.

While also worrying about the possibility of Nora ‘Marty McFlying herself out of existence’, Barry asks to know about something. Do you think he’s referring to the ‘Flash Disappears in Crisis’ headline they found in Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne’s time vault back in Season 1?

In the trailer, Barry ends up without a suit, but Nora says that she has a spare, handing Barry a ring. This is something a lot of fans have waited to see – especially since they saw the Reverse Flash do the same in Season 1.

The video features a clip showing the season’s main villain, Cicada, a blue-collar everyman until his family was torn apart by metahumans. Now he seeks to destroy metahumans – one at a time.

The Flash returns Tuesday, October 9th at 8/7C on The CW.

Supergirl

After defeating Reign in the Season 3 finale, there were lots of changes on Supergirl’s world. J’onn Jonzz stepped down as the head of the DEO following the death of his father, Winn left with the Legion of Superheroes while Brainiac 5 elected to stay behind, and an alternate version of Kara Zor-El appeared in Siberia.

Much of the trailer’s footage is from the previous season, but is set under a voiceover from Agent Liberty (Sam Witwer), a new character for this season. Also, it looks like Supergirl might be getting a new suit!

Supergirl kicks of The CW’s new Sunday lineup on October 14th at 8/7C.

Legends of Tomorrow

When the Legends defeated the demon Mallus at the end of Season 3, they thought they had finally earned that tropical vacation. Sadly, it was cut short by the appearance of Gary and John Constantine. The team was informed that when they let Mallus into their world, they released a whole other host creatures from myths, legends, and fairytales.

The trailer for Season 4 shows we should likely expect many of the same shenanigans from our well-intentioned-but-misguided heroes. Some of the highlights include traveling to the times of hippies and Paul Revere, a dragon, a unicorn, and a meta reference to their “small but dedicated” group of fans.

Legends of Tomorrow returns on Monday, October 22nd at 9/8C on The CW.

Black Lightning

Season 1 of Black Lighting showed Jefferson Pierce returning to his superhero ways when the city of Freeland became much too dangerous and threatened the lives of those who wanted to live in peace. He took on the likes of superpowered gangster Tobias Whale and the government agency ASA, all while balancing his jobs of high school principal and father to two daughters.

To add even more, his daughters began to show evidence of powers of their own. His oldest daughter, Anissa, fully embraced her powers, the ability to drastically increase her density, giving her invulnerability and super-strength. She took the name Thunder and fought alongside her father later in the season. His youngest, Jennifer, was much more reluctant, stating she wanted nothing to do with being a superhero. Her powers are generating pure electrical energy within her body, making her the most powerful in her family.
