In a blog I wrote for another web-site I had reported on the new Lionsgate reboot big screen adaptation of the 90’s popular TV show “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”. But It seems that producer and creative mind extraordinaire Adi Shankar and fellow Power Rangers director Joseph Kahn have a killer new surprise for us all!!

“Power/Rangers” is known as Shankar’s fourth “Bootleg Universe” project into the world of Power Rangers. This ultra cool sleek look into a future much like a Terminator-style post apocalypse world which stars James Van Der Beek (“Dawson’s Creek”, “Go”) and Katie Sackhoff (“Battlestar Galactica”) portray former rangers who find themselves on opposing sides now. A futuristic look into the emotion and mentality of former Rangers – Tommy, Jason, Kimberly, Billy, Zack and Trini as they cope with post-war life. Shankar who has also done previous online shorts following pop culture type comic book characters like The Punisher, Venom and Judge Dredd. Adi had this to say of his newest project.
“This is not a pitch,” As Adi puts it “How’s that not like child soldiers?” “They’re going to have PTSD.”
