If the internet has taught us anything, it’s that people love cats. Whether they are playing keyboards, dressed up in costumes, or are just being themselves, many are transfixed by them. When you mash them up with some of the more popular superheroes of the moment, what you’ve got is pure gold.
Illustrator Fajareka Setiawan has done just that, drawing cats as popular superheroes from the Marvel universe. So far he has drawn Venom, Ant-Man, Deadpool, Spider-man, Aquaman and (the quite-apropos) Black Panther.
What I really like about these is how he incorporates parts of the character (other than just the supersuits) into the drawings. Deadpool is reading Playcat, a giant Ant-Man plays with a police car and you can see Avengers tower in the background, bullets bounce off of Black Panther, Aquaman goes after a fish with its trident, and you can see parts of the cat as the Venom symbiote has not fully covered it.
Thus far, Setiawan has done these six characters. What other superheroes would you like to see him transform into cats?
