Olivia Munn is not wasting any time as the newest cast member of the X-Men family. As the former “Attack of the Show!” host-turned-actress Olivia Munn now takes on the role of mutant Betsy Braddock, AKA Psylocke, for the sequel. Now, to show off her preparation for the role, Munn has revealed a video on her Instagram of her skills with a katana, one of Psylocke’s signature weapons in the source material. Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult are set to lead the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse as Magneto, Professor X, Mystique, and Beast respectively. The film will also see the return of Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Lucas Till as Havok, Evan Peters as Quicksilver and newcomers Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, and Lana Condor as Jubilee. Oscar Isaac is starring as the film’s title antagonist, having confirmed that he will take on the multiple forms of the villain and will also assemble his horsemen. Writer/producer Simon Kinberg is scripting the film from a treatment he wrote with X2: X-Men United writers Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris.
Said to be the conclusion of a trilogy started with X-Men: First Class and continued with X-Men: Days of Future Past, the Bryan Singer directed X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.
