Adam Savage, co-host of the hit TV series MythBusters, attended Silicon Valley Comic Con‘s inaugural event in San Jose this past March 18th – 20th. Adam is a huge fan of Hellboy from Dark Horse Comics; he even cosplayed as the film version (as portrayed by Ron Perlman) at San Diego Comic Con back in 2009. This time, however, he wanted to represent the comic version as drawn by artist Mike Mignola .
For the inaugural Silicon Valley Comic Con, Adam wanted to do something special for his incognito cosplay: he walked through the convention as the comic-book version of Hellboy, having first cosplayed as the movie version eight years ago. Adam celebrates one of his favorite comic book characters by bringing a piece of Hellboy’s demon-slaying arsenal to life. With a Samaritan pistol already in his collection, Adam takes on the task of building a comic-book-worthy broadsword, complete with charred demon skewered at the tip!
Adam Savage is an industrial design and special effects designer/fabricator, actor, educator, and television personality, known as co-host (with Jamie Hyneman) of the Discovery Channel television series “MythBusters” and “Unchained Reaction.” His model work has appeared in major films, including “Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones” and “The Matrix Reloaded.”
