Many theaters are still not open in the US. Some have had to close again due to health restrictions being put back in place or simply due to a lack of people coming in. While many big-name movies are pushing their release dates back even further, or choosing to premiere overseas first, a number of movies are still determined to make their way to theaters.
The last couple weeks have had at least a few new releases, but this week it’s just one – a film that follows the career of singer Helen Reddy, who arrived in the United States back in 1966 from Australia with not much more than a suitcase, a few hundred dollars, and her three-year-old daughter. She would go on to pursue a singing career and wrote the song, “I Am Woman,” which became an anthem for second-wave feminism.
