More than a dozen new movies coming out means that moviegoers will have plenty to choose from if they’re looking to head to their local theaters this weekend. This week’s releases include a drama about a close-knit family navigating life together along with navigating personal struggles and evolving bonds, a comedy about a well-meaning but inept angel named Gabriel who meddles in the lives struggling gig worker and a wealthy venture capitalist, a family adventure film about giant pumpkins, madcap characters, and a little girl who just might be a pumpkin-growing savant, as well as much more!

Black Phone 2 (R)

As Finn, now 17, struggles with life after his captivity, his sister begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone and seeing disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp known as Alpine Lake.
