Movie News: In Theaters This Week – August 8, 2025

The new movies debuting this week might be a bit more quiet in relation to other films released thus far this summer, but there’s still an eclectic collection to choose from. This week’s new releases include a follow-up to 2003’s Freaky Friday, a drama about confronting the past when three sisters attend their mother wedding, a documentary about musician Jeff Buckley, and much more!

Angelheaded Hipster: The Songs of Marc Bolan & T. Rex
