Metrocon 2024, held from July 5-7 at the Tampa Convention Center, was a celebration of anime, video games, and cosplay. As Florida’s largest anime convention, it featured a diverse range of activities and events for fans to enjoy.
The convention’s guest lineup was impressive, including voice actors such as E. Jason Liebrecht, Elizabeth Maxwell, and Adam McArthur. These guests engaged with fans through panels and autograph sessions, adding to the event’s excitement.
Among the standout events was the fire show, held on both Friday and Saturday nights. This captivating performance featured a stunning array of pyrotechnic displays, skilled fire dancers, dramatic choreography, and impressive special effects, creating an unforgettable spectacle. Another highlight was the Anime Human Chess Match, a theatrical performance that combined storytelling, choreography, and combat skills. This unique event brought characters from popular anime and video games to life on a giant chessboard, drawing large crowds each day and becoming a fan favorite.
