Peter Quill has abandoned the Guardians and his role as Star-Lord to become the Emperor of the Spartax. Rocket didn’t wait a single minute to take the reins and become team leader of Drax the Destroyer, Venom, Groot, Star-Lady?!?! and new Guardian BEN GRIMM, the everloving THING?!
Peter Quill all of a sudden has to leave the team in order to take care of royal duty. Rocket is not going to sit around while ‘his highness’ is playing king. So Rocket takes his team of Drax and Groot along with a few new teammates to rule the skies with galactic justice or cause galactic-sized trouble?!
Before Secret Wars the Guardians of the Galaxy already had grand adventures with Flash Thompson on Planet Venom. So he’s not the surprise new cast member to the team. Nor is it the big rocky goliath Ben Grimm from the defunct Fantastic Four. Ben is just chilling in space where he actually fits right in with every other weird-looking alien.
The real shocker to the team is the introduction of Star-Lady (A.K.A. Kitty Pride of the X-Men)! What in the world, correction, what in the outer-worlds has made Kitty Pride leave the safety of her home planet to now become the ‘Star-Lady’ of the Guardians of the Galaxy?
Quill is gone, Gamorra is missing, Venom along with The Thing are part of the team, Kitty Pride is playing Star-Lady and Rocket Raccoon is in charge of it all! Holy space dust, what is going on here?! This is going to be one crazy ride!!
