Just Released! NEW Trailer for Star Trek Beyond

A  fan celebration event on the Paramount Pictures studio lot was held in Los Angeles on Friday where the studio released a second (and better) trailer of the upcoming feature Star Trek Beyond.

The trailer premiere capped an evening-long celebration, which featured appearances by producer J.J. Abrams, director Justin Lin, and stars Chris Pine (Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), and Karl Urban (McCoy). Lin announced that the upcoming film will debut its world premiere in IMAX at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20.

I wanted to introduce to the trailer for you to see,” Pegg said. “It’s something I think really now reflects what Justin, Doug, and myself were hoping to achieve with this movie, which is to create a Star Trek for the ages; something which embodied what Gene Roddenberry hoped for back in 1966 with the resources and the technology and the extraordinary vision that we can achieve here in 2016. So strap yourselves in, it’s time to go beyond.”

To survive, they must go beyond. Watch the new trailer for Star Trek Beyond here!

The trailer finds the Enterprise now three years into its vaunted five-year mission and Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) in the midst of some soul-searching. A soft-spoken Kirk looks at why he is Captain of the Enterprise. “My dad joined Starfleet because he believed in it. I joined on a dare.”

Dr. McCoy (Karl Urban) points out to Kirk, “You’ve spent all this time trying to be your father, now you’re wonder what it means to be you.”

At that point, the starship comes upon one of those strange new worlds whose civilization apparently doesn’t take kindly to interlopers. We see the Enterprise torn apart by the Swarm, an attacking alien horde under the command of Krall that is unlike anything the crew has faced before.

Along they way, they encounter a fierce striped warrior named Jaylah (Sofia Boutella), who comes to their aid.
