While The Office has been off the air a number of years, it has still remained popular with audiences today. Certain actors always brought a degree of charm to the show with their performances, and one of those in particular is Leslie Baker.

Leslie has been making audiences laugh since the late 90’s, and that laughter has continued in his other pursuits in the world of acting and comedy.

PopCultHQ had a chance to chat with Leslie about his time on The Office as Stanley Hudson, his recent role in The Happytime Murders movie, and how he developed his particular brand of comedy.

Leslie Baker

PopCultHQ: It’s been a number of years since The Office went off the air and the anniversary is a big one this year. How does it feel that The Office has been around for so long and impacted so many people’s lives?

Leslie Baker: It feels fantastic that we are part of the comedic landscape and that we are one of the legendary shows that are known to make people laugh and that we’re still making people laugh and will make future generations laugh. So it feels great.

PopCultHQ: Recently you were in the film Happytime Murders. What was that like getting to be in a very strange, dark murder mystery?

Leslie Baker: Big fun. Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, just big fun to work with. Joel McHale. We had a great time on set. Looking forward to working with them again. So, hopefully they won’t let all those good puppets go to waste.

PopCultHQ: Your sense of style and patter with comedy is very unique from that of your colleagues on The Office. Did you develop it yourself or mentor under anybody?

Leslie Baker: I developed it myself. Years go by, you just come into your own and just put it out there and see if it’ll work and that’s what you do.

PopCultHQ: One final question. Looking back on The Office in particular. Are there any standout moments from your years on the show that you’d be willing to share?

Leslie Baker: Being rolled across the parking lot in bubble wrap, very comfortable, got a good nap in. Sliding down the stairs on cardboard, something I’d done before as a child. So I’d think that those are the top two.
