Honest Reviews: Jane Foster is ‘The Mighty Thor’

mighty thor #1

The Mighty Thor #1 came out today,  and is my pick for best read of the week!

While the book can be up and down as far as being too much over the top with woman equality, sometimes even going beyond equality right on into superiority; I think Arron just gets excited when he writers this version of Thor. What moves me today is the beginning with Jane in chemotherapy. Either Jason Arron has gone through this himself or he has a loved one that has, just as much of we have at one point in our lives. It’s truly gripping and tear jerking, having experiences with my father’s death; this book hit me in the gut.

In other aspects, Odin is as crazy as ever. Wanted posters everywhere, Destroyers everywhere and he even threw his own wife in jail for speaking out against him. There is also the change between Jane to Thor, and then Thor to Jane, which is killing her by aggravating the cancer in her body. In a way, Jane Foster talks like she knows she is going to die, so she wishes to do some good in the meantime.

I really can’t see this running much longer. The first run was 8 issues. I can’t see this going the distance but what I really want to know is what the hell did Fury whisper to Thor in the Original Sin event?

Is it a good book? Yes! Is it a good read? Sure, better than most books out today. Is it something I want to have be a constant series? No. In all honesty, I want my Thor back. I want Jane to survive. I want this to have a happy ending, but Jason Arron’s tales of the King Thor of Asgard speaks to a different outcome…..
