Cosplay Spotlight: Bexxin Cosplay

Today, we focus our cosplay spotlight on Beatrice aka Bexxin Cosplay out of Torino, Italy. When not cosplaying, she studies Tourism at the University of Foreign Languages of Turin. Her first convention was Torino Comics in 2012, and apparently she hasn’t stopped cosplaying since. Her first and favorite cosplay was Yuna from Final Fantasy X. Bexxin: I really love everything about her You can tell how much work and love she put into recreating this character. PC: Where did your cosplay name come from? Bexxin is a nickname that one of my friends gave me when we were little, and

Cosplay Spotlight – Deadpoolicorn

I’m sure we have all seen this Horse’s Ass, err uhmmm…. Unicorn Head walking around the convention floor. Many of us have even posed for photos with him…all the while, watching him warily. I’ve heard him referred to as a multitude of things, the most common being Horse-Pool and Dead-Horse. I didn’t even know what his name was until I got his card and spoke with him. Who is this? This is Deadpoolicorn. The self-described Merc with the Horse’s Mouth. He also described himself as The King of Kill, The Sultan of Shoot, and The Master of Mayhem, but he

Cosplay Spotlight – Irradiated Lady

Kris, aka Irradiated Lady (formerly known as fatandnerdy), is one of many cosplayers I have bookmarked. I bookmark cosplayers for a variety of reasons; some its simply because I like one (or more) of their cosplays, others it’s because I like what they write, and some I have bookmarked because of the whole package. Kris is one of these. I love the verve with which she does things. She is a self-assured cosplayer with the self-confidence to kick ass and the mad skills to create almost anything she wants. She has always done some stuff that I love and she

Brazos Valley Comic Con – A Con That Knows How to Treat Their Vendors

I typically end up covering what I call the “con job” cons or the ones where something was handled poorly. The “con job” cons are conventions where management walks away with your money through either deliberate or accidental mishandling of funds; some of the biggest I covered were Daytona 2020 and IfCon Victoria (I’m still waiting to see if Rewind Con falls totally into this category.) I also cover the conventions where they just plain screw something up, such as security at Anime Midwest. When there is a decent convention, I normally don’t do much for them except show cosplay

Cosplay Spotlight – Victori Belle

I think I first met Victori Belle earlier this year at the DuPage Mighty Con, where she had a small table and was dressed as Harley-Quinn. Since then it seems I have run into her at every convention I attend. Maybe she’s following me? I suppose there are worse stalkers I could find. Victori is fairly new to the cosplay scene and, like many of us, she almost ended up here by accident. She started out with a pretty good college basketball career and a Media Studies degree. Like many of us, once she got out of college she had

REWindCon: Good, Bad or Otherwise…You Decide

Back in July, we wrote about Rewind Con in Chicago. The convention was originally scheduled for September 23-25 and was moved to November 11-13. Since then I have been closely watching this convention. I have also spoken with a slew of people…hotel staff, former volunteers for the con, celebrity reps, ticket holders etc…there is a real mix of people when it comes to this con: those that are delighted and those that are angry. Date Change They told us that the date changes were due to the fact that they had to change venues. The original claim was that they
