[Interview] Sam Littlefield Talks Character Development & Creating New Movies

There are people in the entertainment industry who often take on more than one role and wear many different hats. They can at times be starring, writing, producing, and even directing a piece while being involved in other endeavors as well. Sam Littlefield is wearing these many hats all at the same time, working on a variety of projects, all of which are amazing and will be delighting audiences for generations to come. PopCultHQ had the chance to chat with Sam about his character of Mouse on the CW show Batwoman, the upcoming film Mother’s Little Helpers, and his personal

[Reptile’s Random Review] ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’

I took the family out for a movie night to see the new movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. I thought, “here is another movie where Disney is just trying to cash in on the first movie’s success.” I figured it was going to go the way of most sequels and we would regret the price for admission.  But, at our local NCG Cinema, at least the popcorn (though pricey) is always good. My son picked a good spot and we settled in to watch the opening scene in the woods. On a side note, throughout the whole movie they keep

[Reptile’s Random Review] ‘The Island of Dr. Moreau’ from the 2019 Chicago Steampunk Exposition

On Sunday, September 29th, 2019, I was at the Chicago Steampunk Exposition where I attended an original live audio theater adaptation of H.G. Wells’ The Island of Dr. Moreau, which was adapted by K. Zoe Graham of Moebius Theatre. The stage was filled with an interesting array of old-school and steampunky looking gadgets, doodads, and thingamabobs. There was also an arrangement of props, chairs, music stands, and old-school microphones. We didn’t know what to expect. The lights went down and the stage lights came up as the players walked onto the stage. Each player was dressed in proper Victorian Steampunk

Reptile’s Random Review: Steampunk Bonus Edition ft. Bishop Stevens

While attending the Chicago Steampunk Exposition, I came across a table with guest host Bishop Stevens. For those who are unfamiliar with him, he has film credits going back to 2014 and is a former pro-wrestler with such groups as WWE and WCW. Bishop was at the convention to  promote and seek funding (Fan Sourcing) for his new project called “The Steampunk Adventures of Salem Tusk.” He was greeting and talking up the project with the patrons and promoting the chance to land a role as an extra, as they were looking for henchmen to their villain.  He came armed

[Video Interview] RCCC 2019: Frank Gogol of Source Point Press’ DEAD END KIDS & the Ringo Award-Nominated Anthology GRIEF

PopCultHQ was on-hand for all three days covering this year’s Rose City Comic Con. The convention was packed with talented creators from across the comic book community. As with most conventions in which I cover, I create a “plan of attack,” if you will. Basically, I plan on a set number of creators with whom I’d like to connect and provide some sort of media coverage/exposure. Though I did capture three Cruisin’ Comic Con w/ Creators video features (David Pepose, Dave Dwonch, and Kelly Fitzpatrick), along with our first Green Lantern Challenge (ft. Phillip Sevy) and one upcoming New Comic

Reptile’s Random Review: “The Good Place” on Netflix

I have been watching NBC’s “The Good Place” on Netflix, which has 3 seasons available. With the shows fourth and final season about to premiere, I figured I should share my thoughts on the show. The premise is four people who died and have gone to heaven, a.k.a. The Good Place, or have they? SPOILER ALERT The show starts out with central character Eleanor Shellstrop, played by  Kristen Bell, sitting in a waiting room in the afterlife, awaiting her orientation with Michael the Architect, Ted Danson. Michael explains she has died and all the good deeds she has done in

Reptile’s Random Reviews: City of Heroes is Back

I’m sure many of you are aware that City of Heroes/City of Villains has returned as a play-for-free online game. I was excited when I found out and scoured the internet to find how I could play once more. City of Heroes first launched in North America in April of 2004 followed by the February 2005 release in Europe. City of Villains was released as a stand-alone game on October 31, 2005, allowing players to play as supervillains and two games were officially merged on July 16, 2008. I, myself, spent many addicted hours playing this game and was there

Tickets were purchased through Ticket Sauce which instructs purchases that any ticket refunds are the responsibility of the event organizer.

[Convention] PopCultHQ’s Green Lantern Challenge: Phillip Sevy at Rose City Comic Con 2019

With all the conventions PopCultHQ attends each year, there is always a lot with which could be covered: interviews from the show, cosplay pics, panels, signing appearances, and who knows what else? But I am continually looking for ways to improve what we do, expand our coverage in new ways, and find interesting and/or unique ways to promote comic book creators. My latest concept is one I think fans will enjoy…the Green Lantern Challenge.   So here’s the deal – I line up a commission piece from a comic creator prior to the show I am about to cover on-site
