Harrison Ford injured in plane crash

Harrison Ford was injured today when the plane he was piloting crashed in California this afternoon.

Ford is said to have serious injuries including lacerations to his head. Paramedics were treating him on the scene before rushing him to a local hospital. We are told that he is in at least serious condition.

The crash landing took place just west of the Santa Monica Airport at Penmar Golf Course in Venice, CA at approximately 2:24 p.m. Pacific time.  According to a representative from the Federal Aviation Administration, the incident occurred shortly after takeoff.  Ford, an avid pilot, was flying solo in a vintage World War II Ryan PT-22 training plane. It is unsure as to what caused the crash.

Best known for his roles in the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises, the 72-year old actor is slated to appear in two films this year including the highly-anticipated Star Wars VII.  We will keep you up-to-date as this story progresses.
