The Grand Rapids Comic Con Spring Fling was held Friday, April 12 to Sunday, April 14. The new location for this year was at the Kalamazoo County Event & Expo Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This new location for the Spring Fling event was a result of the DeltaPlex closing. The Spring Fling was labeled as ‘road trip’”‘ as they had now moved out of the Grand Rapids area.
The Grand Rapids Comic Con Spring Fling is a communal gathering where fandoms converge and friendships are forged over shared interests. There were vendors, cosplayers, and celebrity guests. Guests to this years event included Nana Visitor, Kyle Hebert, Debi Derryberry, and Greg Cipes.
Rate the Con
Our new thing for 2024 is to ask our readers to take a poll on some basic components of the con. We want to know how you rate the parking, the vendors and the food. The poll closes after 30 days and we will use this as a baseline for next years convention. We hope to eventually have a rating system set up for many of the conventions.

We realize that these don’t apply to all conventions, so if they don’t apply to your con, give them a 5 star.
**Later additions to the rating systems will include things such as guests and ticket prices**
For those seeking unique collectibles, artwork, or merchandise, the Artist Alley and vendor booths offered a treasure trove of delights. Talented artists and creators showcased their work, ranging from stunning illustrations and handmade crafts to rare comic books and exclusive memorabilia. It was the perfect opportunity to support independent artists.
With the new home, rumors are circulating that next year’s event will be rebranded as the ‘Kalamazoo Comic Con’. The event will have a new name, but the same faces will be running it. The new show will still be brought to you by the organizers of Grand Rapids Comic Con.
One of the highlights of the Grand Rapids Comic Con Spring Fling is the cosplay scene. Cosplayers from near and far come together to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship, bringing to life iconic characters from comics, movies, anime, and beyond.
