PopCultHQ After Dark has officially launched! This regular feature will include interviews with comic creators, published every Saturday night at 5pm PT/8pm ET at PopCultHQ.com and our social media channels. In some rare cases, that might mean an older interview we’ve conducted gets played. But for the most part, Saturday nights will spotlight new content in a fun way. Our first new segment under the #PopCultHQAfterDark banner coming your way is “Cards w/ Comic Creators.”
In this new feature, we are smashing together interviews with comic creators and heads-up, No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em poker. I (Jason Bennett, writer/chief editor at PopCultHQ) will interview two comic creators in one Zoom meeting, all while dealing cards to my guests who will face off in a heads-up, No Limit poker match. The winner of each match will advance in PopCultHQ’s “Cards w/ Comic Creators” – Season One tourney until there is one winner left standing. And oh yeah, we talk about comics throughout, too.
Our second quarter-final match of the season pits Rich Douek (SEA OF SORROWS, ROAD OF BONES, THE OCEAN WILL TAKE US) against Rylend Grant (ABERRANT, BANJAX, SUICIDE JOCKEYS). The two writers square-off with 10,000 in chips in a winner advances, loser is out tournament, as well as talk comic biz and their upcoming projects. So sit back and enjoy the second of four quarter-final matches on “Cards w/ Comic Creators” – Season One!
