Do not read unless you have seen the movie:

According to Entertainment Weekly, the “James Bond” actor did indeed shoot a scene as a stormtrooper while filming “Spectre” at England’s Pinewood Studios, which was located near the set of “The Force Awakens.”

The rumors first started when Simon Pegg (who also has a cameo in The Force Awakens, reportedly as a troll-like Jakku bigwig) told the Sun: “I wasn’t a stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a stormtrooper,” in May, before adding: “I shouldn’t have said that.”

For those still wondering how the alleged Craig cameo might have come about, Spectre and The Force Awakens were filming at British studio Pinewood during the same period last year, so 007 would have had just a short walk from one set to another. Reportedly Craig visited the set With J.J. Abrams and the two men concocted the idea on the spot.

The funny part of it all., is when the Bond actor was asked about his rumoured cameo back in July, Craig responded: “Why would I ever bother doing something like that? Fucking hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie.” This can be seen as the British actors certain style of British humour in order to protect the integrity of the secret, cameo and Pegg himself.

(Warning) Spoiler if you want to know who he played below:

Craig played the First Order grunt that was left to guard Daisy Ridley’s “Rey” in a scene on board a starship in the middle part of the film. The part comedic sequence is used to show the audience the young scavenger’s awakening Force powers: in a classic Obi Wan style move, she tells the stormtrooper: “You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open.” Craig (allegedly) initially replies: “I’ll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum,” but after Ridley focuses her Jedi skills and repeats the treaty, eventually responds: “I’ll remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open”, before repeating the line and doing just that. Just as the stormtrooper is about to leave Rey Force-tells him to also drop his blaster, as to which he also does.

A brilliant move if this is the case.
