FAN EXPO Chicago ran August 16-18 at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center. They had a top-notch celebrity guest list and a ton of animation guests. We are finally getting the last part of our FAN EXPO CHICAGO 2024 Sunday Cosplay photos up for you.
Rate the Con
Our new thing for 2024 is to ask our readers to take a poll on some basic components of the con. We want to know how you rate the parking, the vendors and the food. The poll closes after 30 days and we will use this as a baseline for next years convention. We plan to keep a rating system set up for many of the conventions.

We realize that these don’t apply to all conventions, so if they don’t apply to your con, give them a 5 star.

This was the third and final day of the convention and I thought it was the best of the days. It was more relaxed and the temperature was much cooler. People were in less of a hurry. I couldn’t tell you what the celebrity lines were like, as I never made it over there.

The overall layout of the place was a little tight and chaotic and the selection of vendors was not the best. There were several vendors selling the exact same things. There were four lightsaber vendors, and I lost count of the building figure vendors. It’s one thing if those are only some of what they sell, but each of these booths were dedicated to one item. That’s a lot of repeats.
I also was mildly disturbed by the placement of the “Dart Zone.” It was a carnival-type game set up in the middle of the floor where people shot darts at targets. It seemed a strange thing to have in the middle of the vendor floor, but my main concern was that they had it right next to the “Wounded Warrior Project.” It seemed a little tacky to me. I didn’t get a chance to talk to anyone at their booth, as they were gone the next day.
