Rate the Con
Our new thing for 2024 is to ask our readers to take a poll on some basic components of the con. We want to know how you rate the parking, the vendors and the food. The poll closes after 30 days and we will use this as a baseline for next years convention. We plan to keep a rating system set up for many of the conventions.

We realize that these don’t apply to all conventions, so if they don’t apply to your con, give them a 5 star.

This was the second day of the convention and it was packed. For a while you could not move between the vendor aisles and I found it way too hard to make it over to the artist alley. Later in the day, around 3pm, things started to clear up and there was some room to move.
I spent a good portion of the day over in the “Community Corner” with cosplay and volunteer groups. This area was in the back corner over by the food vendors. The way they were arranged in there, made it seem like they were shoved in the back to be forgotten about. Costumers with a Cause and League of Enchantment probably had the worst placed booths. There was a concession line that continually ran around and in front of both areas, making it very hard to access either of them. I am certain that the attendance at both charity group booths suffered greatly for it.

As previously discussed, the heat was abysmal today. Several cosplayers were forced to change out of costuming and several people claimed to be on the border of heatstroke. I am certain the heat did wonders for the sale of beverages though.
The excessive heat did give me plenty of opportunities to hand out our branded hand fans. There will be more handed out at Anime Magic and Dragon Con over the long weekend.
