Post-credit scenes in Marvel movies have become a standard and they usually give a tiny little hint about an upcoming Marvel movie. It seems that one post-credit scene may have given us more of a hint about Thor: Ragnarok than we all realized.

At the end of Doctor Strange, we see Thor sitting with Strange at the Sanctum Sanctorum where he is asking for help in his quest to find his father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins). At that point, we knew it had something to do with the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, perhaps setting the base for the plotline.

At the beginning of a new Japanese trailer, we can clearly see Doctor Strange in the Sanctum. We don’t see him anywhere else in the trailer and this is the first time we have seen hints of him anywhere besides the post-credit scene, so what does this mean?

My guess is that Marvel is looking to do something different than their normal. What if the beginning of the movie plays directly off of the post-credit scene? Maybe Doc Strange even transports Thor to where he needs to go?… Just a theory, but what else do we have at this point? I’m also thinking it is a good guess as Benedict Cumberbatch is listed in the cast, which leads me to believe that he has a little more than a two-minute part.

Thor: Ragnarok comes to theaters November 3, 2017.
