DC’s “Powerless” Adding Comedic Talent To Cast Of Upcoming DCU Sitcom

Fresh off yesterday’s announcement of Vanessa Hudgens signing on, DC Entertainment’s entry into the television sitcom market just got a little bigger.  Three new additions join Hudgens in this comedy set within the DCU: Alan Tudyk (Firefly, Con Man, Rogue One), Danny Pudi (Community, Captain America: The Winter Soldier), and Christina Kirk (A to Z, Manhattan).

Could you imagine if this were to happen on a TV comedy?!

Vanessa Hudgens will be playing the female lead, Emily Locke, a claims adjuster who loves her job because of all the people she gets to help, but who is increasingly exasperated by the disruptive antics of the various Superheroes that proliferate in her city.

Alan Tudyk is Del, Emily’s new boss in the claims department. Del has just been promoted — yup, you guessed it, he’s the owner’s son. Del is a power-mad disastrous dictator of a boss, even considering himself a rich, over-educated globetrotting weasel.

Danny Pudi is Teddy, Emily’s best friend and confidante. A prankster looking to have some innocent fun around the workplace as a way to make their office somewhat exciting for a group of non-“super” beings.

Christina Kirk is Jackie. This superhero fanatic has covered her cubicle with hunky pics of these “super” men. She becomes Del’s personal assistant, and feels the weight and gravity of such an undertaking.

Tudyk and Pudi are exceptional additions certain to bring their unique comedic stylings to this superhero-infused series.

The comedy is depicted as, “a workplace comedy set at one of the worst insurance companies in America — with the twist being that it also takes place in the universe of DC Comics.” It is about the reality of working life for a normal, powerless person in a world of superheroes and villains.
