DC Comics’ “Powerless” Pilot Picked Up For TV Series By NBC

DC Powerless

NBC has just ordered a TV pilot for “Powerless,” a comedy series from DC Entertainment.  Warner Bros. Television production has chosen Ben Queen (Cars 2) to pen the script and Michael Patrick Jann as director and executive producer.  Casting has yet to begin.

The comedy is depicted as, “a workplace comedy set at one of the worst insurance companies in America — with the twist being that it also takes place in the universe of DC Comics.”  That is a great thing for comic fans: it takes place in the DC Comics universe!  Imagine working for the insurance company that has to pick up the pieces after the Superman and General Zod destruction!

The focal point of the show is on the normal, everyday, powerless individuals working at an insurance company.  Being in the DC Comics universe, we will see how these regular people deal with living in a world filled with superheroes, villains, and those with special abilities.  We’ll witness their envy of those with powers and watch as they search for their own individual powers  It will likely draw parallels to The Office, which may not be a bad thing.
