I grew up reading Stephen King, most of his stuff I liked and some of it I loved. The Dark Tower series falls into the latter category (well except Wizard and Glass).
“The man in Black fled across the Desert, and the Gunslinger followed”
That sentence pulled me in and I had trouble putting the book down.
Movies are never as good as the books, but when I heard it was being adapted to film, I had to see it. Unfortunately, my schedule never gave me an opportunity to see it in the theater.
The Dark Tower is based on the best-selling book series by Stephen King. Roland (Idris Elba) is the the last Gunslinger and he is locked in an eternal battle with the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey). Roland must the Dark Tower from falling, or else the universe will follow suit. From Columbia Pictures and MRC. The film was directed by Nikolaj Arcel and the screenplay written by the team of Akiva Goldsman, Jeff Pinkner, Anders Thomas Jensen and Nikolaj Arcel.
Now it seems that I don’t have to wait too much longer to see it.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that The Dark Tower movie is coming to home video next month. It will be released on October 17th in Digital HD format, then will come to Blu-ray and DVD on October 31st.
