PopCultHQ was very honored to have a table at Count-i-Con. It was a great weekend.
PopCultHQ was there to raise funds for the family of Manny Popoca. We had T-shirts, custom prints, comics, and collectibles for sale. We also had a raffle for several prizes. Congratulations to all our raffle winners and a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that purchased something. We raised $165 for the Popoca family.
This is what comic conventions used to be. Fans of gaming and comics coming together to celebrate what they love. No uber big name movie celebrities to take away from the actual artists and crafters that were present.
There were a lot of great people. Our table neighbor to the left was Marie-Claude Bourbonnais, a great cosplayer/model out of Quebec. I was really impressed by her costuming talent. The detailing on her Scorpion was awesome.
Our table neighbor on the right was the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention who was taking donations on behalf of Manny. They were also given several prints by the wonderfully talented Esteban Salinas and his Deviant Apple Studios to use to raise donations in Manny’s honor.
A lot of great people stopped by to make a donation, buy something or to just say hi. We ran into Victori Belle…again (I think she is following us) who was sharing a table and helping to promote Deadgar Winter and his Coffin Classics.
We also ran in to some old friends such as Rick Heinz, whose book Seventh Age: Dawn will be out towards the end of the year. Even Geeks A Gogo stopped by to say hi; we might technically be competitors for your views, but it’s a fun competition.
And I want to thank Count-i-Con for the below pictures that I ‘borrowed,’ as I didn’t get an opportunity to see any of the costume contests. I thought it was great that they had Adults, Children and Pet costume contests.
