Nadeshicon is a Japanese culture/anime convention held annually in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada at Université Laval, in the Alphonse-Desjardins and Maurice-Pollack buildings.

This year’s event ran March 24th-26th. Nadeshiko is Japanese for carnation (a flower). Flowers, springtime, April, so Nadeshicon is the contraction of nadeshiko and convention.

The convention is run and organized by Club Animé Québec. This is a convention organized by fans for fans; which are always the best cons, because they know what they want to see in a convention.

They had everything you could think of from a flea market to anime viewing parties. They even had martial arts demonstrations and a Japanese fashion show. They also had the normal array of panels, costume showcases, dance parties, and vendors.

With an estimated 3,000 attendees, this looks like it was a fantastic event. Thanks to Maxime Girard, we get to see some of the great cosplays that were on-site.
