FAN EXPO Chicago 2023 returned to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center on August 10th and runs though August 13th for their 2023 show.
As per usual, Saturday was the busiest day of the convention, and it got so crowded that many of the aisles were difficult to navigate at times. Additionally, the cooling issues for the building many experienced continued through the weekend, meaning that if you were in a costume, you were most likely to overheat easily. Thankfully, a couple booths in the community zone had fans going, which brought relief to many a con-goer.
Even so, there was more to do on Saturday than you could possibly manage to do with many interactive events on the convention floor, a whole host of panels, photo ops and autographs with the celebrity guests, the FAN EXPO Chicago Cosplay Craftsmanship Cup, and much more! Everywhere you looked attendees were buying art and collectibles, engaging in discussions about their favorite fandoms, greeting old friends and meeting new ones, and generally having a enjoyable day.
