FAN EXPO Chicago 2023 returned to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center on August 10th and runs though August 13th for their 2023 show.
Saturday was the third day of the FAN EXPO Chicago sauna. They did try to alleviate some of the heat by putting industrial fans in several areas, but it did not make much difference. It was still hot and humid. The crowds were impassible in many areas, but they started to thin out around 2pm. I have a feeling that many left because of the heat.
There were a lot of problems with celebrity lines today, but there always is. However, the biggest complaint I see is towards the resellers. The resellers bring big carts full of stuff to be signed, holding up the line and delaying everything. This means that true fans, who have scheduled their entire weekend around the moment they get to meet their celebrity, get delayed and pushed off. Several didn’t even get to see their chosen celebrity before the end of the day -meaning they either leave in disappointment or have to try again tomorrow.
