FAN EXPO Chicago 2023 returned to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center on August 10th and runs though August 13th for their 2023 show.
The second day of FAN EXPO definitely had more people. It was a little bit cooler in some places, as it seemed they had turned on some fans. Though I am still not sure if there was actual air conditioning in the building. What cooling there was seemed to be sporadic.

The crowding in some of the vendor aisles was already bad, so I can only imagine what Saturday will be like, especially when you start tossing in the strollers.
I visited artist alley today and I had mixed feelings about it. It seemed large until I realized that it was no longer a traditional artist alley. Instead of having only flat media artists, they have now incorporated crafters and 3-D artists under the heading of artists alley. There is a lot of very good artwork in all mediums and it gave a nice expansion of the allowable artistic formats.
Now on to the cosplay photos – I’ve got a lot of good floor shots and the red carpet. Stay tuned for more photos in the coming days.
