Archon is an annual science fiction and fantasy convention held at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville, Illinois. It connects well-known media guests, scientists, and writers, artists, and vendors with fans of sci-fi and has been doing so for 46 years.
This event started in 1977 with only 253 in attendance. By 1982, attendance had increased to 1,750 and they had well known horror author Stephen King as their guest of honor. The event has continued to grow and has brought in many well known authors such as Ray Bradbury.
A major part of Archon is their masquerade, which means that there was plenty of cosplay in attendance and thanks to Patrick Jones, we get to see some of it.
