Anime Iowa ran from July 30th through August 1st in Coralville, IA. AnimeIowa is the largest anime convention in Iowa with over 3000 attendees each year. AnimeIowa caters to an interest in Japanese culture including anime (animated TV shows and movies), manga (comics), gaming, and costuming, as well as the customs which originated or are ingrained into the Japanese culture.
This year the event played it safe and had limited guests and a masking requirement, but that didn’t stop the cosplayers from turning out in droves and having fun.
