Fandemic Tour is a promising new showcase of talent and celebrities that stumbled a little in their premiere capital showcase.
Fandemic Tour, whose aim was to be “a New Comic Convention Experience,” rolled into its inaugural event in the heart of downtown Sacramento the third weekend of June 2018. Sporting a rather impressive list of celebrity guests including The Boondock Saints alum Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery, and David Della Rocco. The Walking Dead cast arrived too, including Steven Yeun, Michael Rooker, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and the aforementioned Norman Reedus. The guest list included cast members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Charmed, Smallville, and a little Nightmare on Elm Street.
As day one started, the Friday crowd seemed sparse and the trend continued through all three days, leaving the event empty at times. This doesn’t mean there wasn’t good times to be had. Michael Rooker walked around the packed room answering questions, taking pictures with fans. Robert Englund spoke to a room of fans who loved hearing his stories and experiences and could safely be said to have killed it. Overall, Fandemic brought a lot of good names and a wide range of vendors, but seemed plagued with cancellations, little or not enough advertising, and did not capture the attention of the locals.
There is a lot of potential in this event and location. Hopefully they decide to come back next year and push their marketing to allow this show to grow to its fullest.

Fandemic Tour is athree-day extravaganza of all things Geek! Fandemic will gather pop culture celebrities, well known and emerging comic artists, professional and amateur cosplayers, and exhibitors that sell socks, t-shirts, hats, and everything in-between. In addition, Fandemic Tourwill provide programming open to all who attend throughout the weekend. Throughout the weekend, attendees have the opportunity to purchase autographs and photo ops with Fandemic Tour guests. Photo opportunities come in the form of a photo of you and the celebrity guest taken on a professional camera under ideal lighting conditions. Photos are printed on 8×10” paper on dye-sublimation photo printers.
