On December 12th, I last did the update on the Comic and Cosplay Convention List. At that point, I went through all the big conventions to ensure I had correct dates and they hadn’t added shows.
Sometime in the last five days, Walker Stalker has quietly cancelled several shows.
The shows I had verified just a few days ago were:
- January 5, 2019 in Portland, OR
- January 26, 2019 in Pheonix, AZ
- March 23, 2019 in Berlin, Germany
- March 30, 2019 in London, England
- April 19, 2019 in Chicago, IL
- August 3, 2019 in Cleveland, OH
- August 24, 2019 in Nashville, TN
- October 18, 2019 in Atlanta GA
And the Walker Stalker Cruise, even though it was listed on the site, did not have a date.
Now when you go to the site, you only see:
The shows they have listed are:
- March 23, 2019 in Berlin, Germany
- March 30, 2019 in London, England
- April 19, 2019 in Chicago, IL
- August 3, 2019 in Cleveland, OH
- August 24, 2019 in Nashville, TN
- October 18, 2019 in Atlanta GA
- December 7, 2019 in New Jersey (Edison)
They deleted Portland and Phoenix one month before the event and they added an event in December.
I probably should have seen this coming, as Walker Stalker typically occurs with the Heroes & Villains show. At some point, Heroes & Villains dropped to four shows. Unfortunately, I missed when they did it, but they had obviously done it with enough notice as to not inconvenience anyone. Heroes & Villains now only has:
- April 19, 2019 in Chicago, IL
- May 25, 2019 in London, England
- June 29, 2019 in New Jersey (Edison)
- August 24, 2019 in Nashville, TN
I guess it’s pretty obvious that these conventions are going their separate ways, as only Nashville and Chicago still have them as joint events.
