ConnectiCon 2024, held from July 18-21 at the Connecticut Convention Center, celebrated its 21st anniversary. They offered a wide array of programming including cosplay, gaming, celebrity guests, panels, and workshops.
The event featured notable guests such as Abby Trott, Adam McArthur, Allegra Edwards, Bryce Papenbrook, Kira Buckland, Lex Lang, Robbie Amell, and Wendee Lee, among many others.
This year’s convention had an extensive schedule with over 7,000 hours of programming across all four days. Attendees could participate in various gaming tournaments, explore the board game library, and enjoy tabletop gaming sessions. The convention also hosted numerous engaging panels covering topics from anime and comics to gaming and cosplay. Notable events included the Cosplay Lip Sync Battle and group photoshoots for fans to showcase their costumes and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
Rate the Con
Our new thing for 2024 is to ask our readers to take a poll on some basic components of the con. We want to know how you rate the parking, the vendors and the food. The poll closes after 30 days and we will use this as a baseline for next years convention. We plan to keep a rating system set up for many of the conventions.
[ays_poll id=140]
[ays_poll id=141]

We realize that these don’t apply to all conventions, so if they don’t apply to your con, give them a 5 star.
**Later additions to the rating systems will include things such as guests and ticket prices**
Overall the con was a fantastic event, unfortunately it did have some problems, but there isn’t a lot the convention can do about them as they are outside the conventions control. I’d also like to point out that these are the same complaints we see at almost every convention.
- Parking – This is not something the convention has control over. There were several events in town and they were all competing for the same parking spots. The city itself should have made better accommodations for traffic and event handling.
- Crowd control – The event has grown considerably over the years, however there is nothing in the area that is larger than the current venue. There isn’t much they can do to improve the situation except limit passes, that will create a whole new slew of complaints.
- Rude Staff – There were numerous complaints about staffing at the celebrity lines. It seems that some of the staff were rude and inconsistent. However, most people are uncertain if those were convention volunteers or the personal handlers of the guests.
On the positive side, everyone loved ConnectiCon 2024. It was a welcoming event with lots to do and see.

The highlight of the event for many is the cosplay. This is where people show their love for a character, show or franchise. Thanks to Dan Unger we get to see some of the fantastic cosplay that was on site at this event.
