Writing:

Damon and Troy are setting the stage for a big, explosive finale here; for Brick City, for Buckle and his partner Vinegar. Things are shaping up to the kind of chaos that was the brainchild of H.P. Lovecraft, wedded to the crime-solving mystery mayhem of Dashiell Hammett. These two working together produce scripts and stories that are like the love-child of two literary titans, so get ready and get set for what will come in issue #3.

Art:

Troy’s art and letters are really standout like in the previous two issues. Only this time, he takes the bar and sets it higher. Especially with the artwork and lettering for Vinegar Teeth when the creature cop starts to experience some interesting…changes. It only adds more foundation to the wall of amazing contributions Troy has given to the Vinegar Teeth series with Damon.

Michelle’s colors were amazing and gruesome this time around. Bizarre reds and greens, all sorts of other choices to highlight the horror, violence and gore that Buckle and Vinegar Teeth are encountering. It adds up to one simple equation, with the end result being rather spectacularly scary, thanks in part to Michelle’s work.

PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:

It’s time to step into the center ring and see what frights lurk in the shadows of Brick City. As Buckle and his partner battle hordes of the shambling dead, waiting in the wings are unseen forces waiting to make a move and strike at the city and all its denizens. Things shall be revealed this issue, things that will make readers not want to look away.
