Writing:
Stan’s writing is one of the two things that makes this volume such an enjoyable and entertaining read. His writing of Usagi as the determined and brave rōnin paired with the serious, if slightly silly, nature of the Turtles, provides endless amusement when reading the book. For all those who have enjoyed Stan’s Usagi work over the years, sitting down with this TPB will be an excellent thing indeed.
Art:
The second thing that makes this volume enjoyable is the artwork. Page after page of Stan’s signature and mind-blowing art left this reviewer gobsmacked. Each page is a veritable testament to Stan’s artistic genius. There is action galore and richly detailed layouts, all of it to provide a balance to the spot-on stories they are paired to.
PopCultHQ’s Overall Assessment:
Stan Sakai’s crossover work between his creation and that of Eastman/Laird? Sounds like a big book of fun. And fun it is, the sort of fun that will keep readers engaged and devotees of Stan’s work entertained. This book will be a worthy addition to any shelf or collection.
