PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
Rick and Morty™ Presents: The Vindicators #1

Writing:

Rick and Morty™ Presents: The Vindicators #1 - ECCC Vsariant by Jen BartelJ. Torres takes everyone’s favorite wacky science duo and teams them up with the galaxy’s greatest heroes once again. Only this time the threat is not only dire, it comes from within the Vindicators. Torres embodies all of the best qualities of a single Rick and Morty episode into his script and serves up some crazy, high stakes action that will leave both comic reader and Rick and Morty die-hard fans wanting more.

Art:

CJ Cannon’s art is true to the Rick and Morty spirit. Lots of details, well-drawn and fleshed out characters; from Rick and Morty and the Vindicators, to background figures and second string individuals. And that’s not to mention the work on the actual backgrounds, the sets and worlds that readers will find themselves taken through.

The colors Nick employs for the book are vibrant, but at the same time have a somewhat muted feel. Things like Rick’s hair and gadgets, or even the Vindicators’ costumes, they are colorful but not in the same way that they are colorful in the cartoon. In the end though, Nick has put his heart and soul into each color choice for this comic and they show.

Crank! did a fine job as letterer, especially with lettering Rick. One can just hear that drunken, delightful maniac’s voice as he belches and swears and sciences his way out of this crazy, madcap super adventure that he and Morty have found themselves in. It’s top-notch work from a top-notch letterer.

PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:

Ohhhh snap…it’s the return of the Vindicators, folks. That’s right, the most “effective” super-team in the Rick and Morty-verse have returned and they need the help of that drunkenly dynamic science duo. So come along as things get crazy, super awesome, and downright wacky.
