Deadpool’s quest to beat the rest continues, and this time he’s squaring off against the Assassins Guild in the Big Easy! The Merc with the Mouth’s healing factor will get put to the ultimate test when he’s pitted against the knife-wielding speedster called HARVESTER! But even if he’s lucky enough to survive that encounter, Deadpool’s actions in this very comics mag will align more than one ne’er-do-well against him…and Harvester’ll look like a walk in the park!

PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
Deadpool: Assassin #1

Writing:

Cullen Bunn is bringing everyone’s favorite murderous Merc with a Mouth into some new kind of crazy. Deadpool is doing what he does best, murdering in the name of himself and money. So that means whoever gets in DP’s way this time is going to be in for a rude surprise, courtesy of the crafty storytelling of Cullen.

Art:

Mark’s artwork is classic Deadpool: action, violence, adventure, mayhem. All of the things that make a Deadpool comic book great and a new first issue utterly epic. Many of the pages are chock full of high-flying, glossy, bloody art that befits Deadpool’s lifestyle.

John’s inks are slick and add some depth to Mark’s art. Especially in moments with lots of shade and shadows. Because if there’s a dark spot to hide, Deadpool is gonna use it, and exploit it to murderize someone. So keep a sharp eye out for those shadows, they are fresh from John’s pens.

Edgar’s color choices are like John’s inks, they fit every page perfectly. He makes use of a lot of red (for obvious reasons). He also makes use of other color choices to bring a real sense of life to the first issue. Get ready for some bright style choices during the fight pages, and some electric material to boot.

Joe jumps on board as letterer and does a heck of a first round job. It’s as if he tapped into Wade Wilson and Ryan Reynolds brains and pulled the best stuff from both. Joe supercharges the first issue with lettering unlike any other, making this latest Deadpool mini-series a must-read for newcomers and veteran fans.

PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:

Deadpool at his finest in an all-new series. See the movie star and anti-hero do it all: fight, eat, break the 4th wall, and more. Marvel presents, from a fine team of creatives, another Merc with a Mouth masterpiece.
