CBCS Introduces New Signature Procedures

Comic Book Certification Service (CBCS) has announced continued updates to its product and service lines.

“Since CBCS joined the Beckett team, there were two requests that continued to pop up as we collected feedback from our customers. First, was to create a more secure case that is crystal clear. Second, was to retire the red VSP signature label” said Steve Borock, President of CBCS Grading. “We heard you, and are proud to announce a brand new case and a yellow label for all signed books from CBCS. No more red labels!”

Effective July 10, 2020, CBCS will be retiring its red VSP label, which was being used to identify books with signatures that were authenticated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS). Moving forward, all comics with signatures will be encapsulated with the yellow CBCS label. The signatures will be clearly identified on the bottom of the label if they were witnessed, or if the signature was verified by BAS.

All signatures authenticated by BAS are clearly designated on the label as a Verified Signatures. On those labels where there are both Verified and Witnessed Signatures, the witnessed signatures are proceeded by the date, the signature was added to the book. Verified Signatures will not have a date associated with them.
