A longer statement will come later today.

“Then we shall not be weary. Then we shall prevail.” — John F. Kennedy’s New Frontier speech

Darwyn Cooke who is most known for the miniseries “DC: The New Frontier,” that was turned into the groundbreaking, almost exact replica of an animated movie. Cooke had been working in comics for as long as I can recall, with one of his major works I immediately followed of his was during his short but epic run on the revamped Catwoman with Ed Brubaker and Mike Allred. Cooke then went on to write and draw many fantastic stories and showcase even more of his inspirational classic artworks. DC Comics’ New Frontier was exactly what it is named after, it was Cooke’s grand vision of a new look and feel to the iconic DC Comics “Big Bang” origin tale.

Darwyn has been long known in the comic book community as a pioneer in the industry with his unmistakable uniquely dynamic, cartoon-like style. His cover work is unmatched by any and his storytelling was beyond spectacular.

Darwyn Cooke, will be greatly missed. R.I.P.
