Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 7th and stores all across the country will be celebrating. Participating stores make available a number of free comics from various publishers spanning numerous titles. The stores themselves typically offer great deals that day to encourage collecting and the genre.
Aspen Comics will be honoring FCBD twofold: First, they are putting out Worlds of Aspen 2016. The FCBD offering will combine Aspen Comics’ two flagship series, Fathom and Soulfire, both created by the late Michael Turner. It’s the first time these two worlds have been involved in a crossover and will be setting the stage for the future of the Aspen Universe. Written by Eisner and Harvey Award-nominated writer Joshua Hale Fialkov and N.Y. Time best-selling author J.T. Krul, and featuring artwork by veteran Aspen artist Jordan Gunderson and superstar colorist Peter Steigerwald, this brand-new 16-page “zero” issue will be the beginning of the new Aspen Universe in the pages of this July’s Aspen Universe: Revelations #1.
In addition to Aspen’s largest promotional campaign to date, including posters, bookmarks, door signs and more, creators from many of Aspen’s titles will be on hand at various locations for signings. Here’s the list:
