When promoting a film, studios determine their target audience and work towards drawing them in. In the case of the upcoming film Ant-Man, Marvel has a unique demographic they are targeting.
In promoting the film in Australia, the juggernaut that is Marvel has begun advertising via tiny billboards placed around the city. These billboards are said to be twelve inches high, light up at night, and are directed towards… insects? These immovable placards have been spotted in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Queensland in various locales, such as parks, bus stops, and trash cans. Many Aussies who have stumbled across these signs have been uploading the pics to Reddit. An interesting marketing strategy to say the least. Take a look at the trailer for this upcoming feature…
Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and also co-stars Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, and Corey Stoll. The movie hits theaters on July 17th, 2015.
