Toyetica is the story of Trixie Tangle, a tiny Bittle student, whose race of small people live alongside humans in everyday life…working, playing and most importantly, landing toy model contracts. With the right theme, the best accessories and a catchy name, bittle students can nab the role of a lifetime as highly-paid models for human
children’s toys. Luckily for Trixie, she’s been accepted to Dollington Academy, the best of the best in toy prep schools!
The bad news is that Trixie’s not even sure what kind of toy she wants to be. Her friends are fellow class misfits and they’ve all just stumbled onto something terrible from the past, lurking under the surface of the school and threatening to forever change their world.
LeGrow comments, “Toyetica isn’t about the perfect toy model, the princess with a million accessories and a pony and a lot of market appeal. It’s about the other toys who don’t have the glossy packaging, the right theme, the shiny outfit. And it’s about the toys who never really wanted those things to begin with, because they’ve got bigger dreams than what the world wants them to do. I’ve always felt that I wouldn’t mind being put in a box, so long as I get to pick the box I go in. It’s when other people choose it for me that I start to think outside of it.”
Mysteries and clue-hunting run deep throughout the series, in the vein of The Da Vinci Code and National Treasure, with cameos, puzzles, codes and ciphers for fans to follow along and unravel for themselves.
