The world’s computers have been wiped out. Civilians are rioting in the streets, desperate for food and turning on their neighbors. Meanwhile, somewhere in China, superspy Eggsy’s fighting to stop the Red Diamond from crushing the global economy, and he’s trying to seduce the beautiful agent Kwaito in the process. His cocky British charm can only get him so far, though, and it doesn’t help with his sexual prowess. Issue number four of this action-packed miniseries contains chaos, sex, violence, and crisps.

PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
KINGSMAN: THE RED DIAMOND #4 (of 6)

Writing:

While the world is going down in flames, Rob takes things a whole different step for Eggsy and Kwaito. Amidst chaos, violence and danger, Rob’s fantastic story advances itself in the most surprising ways. Further proof that he is tackling the world of Kingsman excellently is within the pages of this book. And to see what happens next in the race against the Red Diamond, make sure to pick it up and be ready for issue #5.

Art:

Simon Fraser leads the charge once again in the art department. He presents stunning visuals and intense action in amazing layouts. Plus the art is mind-blowing like it has been for the last three issues. Whatever comes next in this spy adventure, it’s going to be all the more excellent thanks to Simon and his dedication to giving the best art possible for this series.

Gary’s coloring is sharp and spot-on. There’s a lot to be said for the work presented in issue #4. With the story ramping up, so in turn have the colors. It’s safe to say that for as long as this Kingsman series is around, that means fans of Gary’s work will get treated to more of his usual brand of dedication and creative color choices.

Peter Doherty’s lettering work shines bright as always. It is clear that there’s a lot of heart and commitment to the craft poured into this issue. The same can be said for the previous three books in this series. He approaches lettering each character carefully, whether its Eggsy and Kwaito, or Red Diamond’s henchmen, or civilian figures. Everybody is given a distinct voice thanks to Peter.

PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:

The game is afoot as the world plunges toward total chaos. Eggsy and Kwaito find themselves up to their necks in trouble. At home, Eggsy’s mum and family deal with the most harrowing aspect, civil unrest and widespread mayhem. Everyone is in a spot of bother now, but readers will have to see how things turn out by getting this book!

PopCultHQ’s Rating:

5 Out of 5 Stars
