Writing:

Paul Allor takes a dive right into the history books with this brand news series. Set during the glorious and violent days of the Renaissance, with all its majesty and mayhem. Political intrigue, science, and the power of the Catholic Church, wedded to a little bit of hyper-advanced science. This will takes readers into a whole new world, and invite them to take part in a new look at history.

Paul’s lettering is part of what makes his first issue so stand out. Leonardo and his apprentice have distinct voices, as do other figures of Renaissance lore from this time. While Paul’s letters for the dialogue may all look similar, there’s a voice inside each word balloon, thick with story just waiting to be told.

Art:

Chris’s art is glorious. It’s detailed and extensive and fills every panel and page with pictures moving this story along. It’s a cornucopia of art that has everything laid out so precisely and excellently, it defies mere description. Chris, working together with Paul, is going to produce a fantastic series, one that will be a great delight for readers.

Sjan does a masterful job on the colors for the first issue. It’s all bright, there is brightness even in the shadows of the night scenes. There’s a clear cohesive working together with Chris on this project; Sjan’s colors compliment Chris’s art beautifully. May each coming issue be just as grand in color as this one.

Leonardo da Vinci was one of history’s greatest minds. Artist, inventor, man of science and much more. Take a dive into history with this series exploring his early days during the Renaissance, with his loyal apprentice by his side through the chaos and strife of the politics and wars of the time. Not to mention their giant robot, a wondrous being ripped from the pages of a sci-fi film and at the command of one of the Masters himself. History lovers will get a kick out of it, and fans of Paul and Chris’s works will delight to see these two working together.
