PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
SCALES & SCOUNDRELS #2
Sebastian Girner sowed the seeds of adventure in issue #1 of this series. Now those seeds are beginning to blossom into a full-fledged adventure. All the pieces are in place and brought into action here in issue #2. Sebastian is putting together a fabulous story, with a band of unique and well-fleshed out characters. Fans of his work and of sword/sorcery tales will enjoy what issue #2 has to offer as the story continues.
Art:
Galaad’s art just keeps on being fantastic. Widening the scope of the world of Scales & Scoundrels, he brings vivid beauty to the book, adding his stamp of excellence to this comic. Together, he and Sebastian work true magic, the magic of storytelling, told through his pictures and the script from Girner.
Jeff’s lettering ensures that both story and art keep coming to life. There’s a lot of dialogue lettered between all the characters, which helps put together more puzzle pieces as to whom each member of the group is. Without the lettering, the story would honestly feel a bit flat, so here’s to Jeff Powell and his lettering, and the part it plays in the comic.
PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:
Magic, adventure and treasure…All the classic components of a great fantasy novel, now presented in issue #2. The three creators on SCALES & SCOUNDRELS are clearly having a lot fun while producing this work and it is apparent with the symmetry shown on the pages. Fans and new readers will very much enjoy picking up this comic and seeing what excitement lies in its pages.
PopCultHQ’s Rating:
5 Out of 5 Stars
