PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
Warframe #1

Writing:

Matt Hawkins and Ryan Cady teaming up for issue one is a great decision. Both of them dive into this comic with an epic story style. For fans of the game, this will be a great treat. For comic readers who have not yet played Warframe, this will be an enticement for them to go and try it out.

Art:

Studio Hive’s artwork is awesome. It emulates the graphic style of the Warframe world spectacularly, but stands on its own, making it clear that this isn’t just a comic adaptation, it’s another chapter in Warframe but in comics form. The intensity of the art will make it even more appealing to both gamers and comics fans alike.

Troy Peteri’s lettering is one of the crown jewels for the comic. There’s a lot of internal thought dialogue lettered in the comic, and Troy’s stylization makes it come across in a way where fans of Warframe will hear character voices as they read the book. It just goes to show how seriously Troy takes lettering comics, and this series will be another triumph for him.

PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:

Welcome to the world of Warframe. A dark future for mankind, with a war that has the odds stacked against the human race. A war of technology and monsters, with noble warriors to champion the people. It’s another fantastic comic from Image/Top Cow, with a stellar creative force working on it.
