DIVINITY, a lost Russian cosmonaut newly returned to Earth with god-like powers, has successfully restored the world to order after the reality-altering event known as the Stalinverse. But how can a man – even one with near-divine abilities – know for certain that the planet has been truly restored in full? To make sure, Divinity must bear witness to the world as it now stands – heroes, villains, gods, and all – to ensure the rightful order of the Valiant Universe!

PopCultHQ’s Comic Book Review:
Divinity #0

Writing:

Matt Kindt’s writing is nothing short of mad genius made reality. There is nothing simple about it, it is complex and there is hidden meaning in his words and story. But that hidden meaning is for each reader to decipher as they delve into this new series. Or perhaps there’s meaning to be found by each reader themselves; either way, there’s no putting down this issue until one finishes it.

Art:

Renato Guedes handles all of the art aspects, pencils, inks and colors and does it all so beautifully! The entirety of Divinity #0 is full of life, colors both light and dark that make Matt Kindt’s script seem to propel the characters right off the pages. Truly, Matt and Renato’s working together on this book is an excellent partnership.

Dave Lanphear and his lettering strike again. His work as letterer seems to float off the pages, which is fitting since there’s a lot of space and reality elements to this tale. Overall, the text feels like that of a space epic pulp, bold and striking, it drags the readers eyes page by page in concert with the art and story.

PopCultHQ’s overall assessment:

Stop the presses because Divinity #0 is out of this world! Literally, it will take its readers across time and space, have them traverse the great unknown and have them asking questions. More then just “what is going to happen next” or “why is this so good,” but deeper questions, the kind one would normally find only in a philosophy class at a major university. So come along and join the characters on this journey, and perhaps something will be learned along the way to change lives.

PopCultHQ’s Rating:

5 Out of 5 Stars
